Changing the natural sound

To get on to changing the natural sound, I turned on this button.

I then changed the sound levels from the clips that needed it as shown at the side.

Soundtrack

I am now working on creating our soundtrack, because thriller films use orchestral music in their soundtracks this is what I will be using too.

There were a lot of sounds that I could choose out of so I selected Orchestral, Strings and Intense to find the right sounds that would suit my film.

I have chosen two different sounds that I am using for my bass of my music, this is shown in the top line.

I then added on the additional sounds to go over the top of this bass sound as shown on the bottom line in the picture below.

Effect

On the close up of the knife shot, I decided that I needed to put an effect over this to make it look a bit more interesting. I chose to put 'Bad Film' over this. Below is a picture of how I found this.

Once I put this effect on the clip, it looked a lot better and gave the whole film a better look to it.

Colour Correction

After both members of my group completed our individual rough cuts, we decided to keep to Beths project to continue on for our final project. However, we liked the colour collection and effect I put on one of the shots from my project so I then went through and did these extra things to Beth's project.

The above picture shows one of the shots I put the colour correction on.

The above picture shows how I got onto colour correction. I then did this to all my shots that needed it by adjusting the colour from the circles shown in the first picture. After I changed the colouring of the shots, our film looked a lot more professional and had an expensive look to it.

Editing - 9th February

I've now gone through all my shots and the one's that I feel are too dark, I have edited them all to make them brighter.

Editing - 9th February

During our lesson today, I worked on selecting the footage I would use for my title sequence, I found this quite hard and time consuming to find the right pieces of footage of what I wanted to use.

I have edited my whole chosen footage together now!

Editing - 8th February

Today I was having a lot of problems with Final Cut and couldn't get much to work in this at all.
So instead I was trying to get the idea of how Garage Band works for when I create my soundtrack. I still find this really hard and feel I need to work on this more to be able to get a good soundtrack out of this program.

Production Logo

Today after school gave me the chance to start playing with effects on our production company logo. I found the software really hard to use at first but after playing around with this for a while, I understood it.

Below are some pictures of what I got this to look like.

I now just need to add the name of the production company to this.

I really liked what I have done so far!

Editing - Monday 6th February

We managed to shoot the knife next to the Killer's body over the weekend as this could be done inside but we couldn't shoot the pool of blood on the floor as it snowed. However, I added in the knife next to the Killer's body to my footage and this improved my sequence so much that I decided that the hands look good now in my sequence and I don't need to shoot this again!

Editing - 3rd February

Today I used my time to put my sequence in order and had to cut down my shots with only the important parts in which I needed to be used. I found this really hard and didn't want to remove a lot of my footage. I tried to keep as much as I could but when I got into the right frame of mind, I decided to cut the shot as soon as I was getting bored of it and got rather good at this.

Although I have only been editing for one day now, I already feel a lot more confident with Final Cut and am very pleased with my progress!!

I have decided that an extra shot needs to be filmed, a close up of the knife next to the killer's body as I feel is missing and re-shooting this will look a lot better. Reshooting blood on the floor would look better than using the victim's hand's holding the wound so if this is possible we will try and reshoot this too.

Editing - 2nd February

Today I started editing for the first time. I found it really hard and I had many problems. I found out how hard Final Cut is to use and the problems that can occur with this. I managed to upload all of my footage onto my computer and started with deciding where each clip would be used.
